Spring is always a time for renewal. It is no different here in NSB. The winter months have lifted and it is now time to making way for fun in the sun! The New Smyrna beach life is picking up and the entire area seems to be going under a transformation. Ellen and I just gave the Inn a much-needed bath, Pressure washing all the winter grim off the building, sidewalks and drive way. This spring you will notice we have begun freshening up all the outside gardens, with the addition of more herbs, and stainable plants. Then it will be on to trimming back some of the dead branches, and touching up the trim work. With a historic home this size there is always something that needs doing, but it is a labor of love.
The best part of sprucing up is, it seems to be inspiring our neighbors to be doing the same. There have been a few changes on the street with Crimson House getting ready to open their wine bar. There will be new business located across the street from us, in the other craftsman home on the street. Then the big news The Albacore -senior residence is now under construction. Keeping the history of the original Hotel with the name that will include a state- of- the- art memory care center and 109 total bed. I can’t think of a more beautiful location to spend my retirement years. The city has plans to redo our utilities and fix up our side walks as well. Making getting around town so much more convenient.
As always Ellen and I are excited to share our home and city with you all.
