We love being a part of our Canal Street Historic District Family. If you have never been to a Canal Street 1st Saturday you really don’t know what you’re missing.  On July 6, CSHD will hosting the 8th annual Christmas in July on Canal Street.  If you do not have reservation for this weekend you need to book now!  Our rooms are limited.

The fun begins at 10am with the Sidewalks filled with booths for both the Art Stroll and the annual Sidewalk sale. (It is very convenient it starts right as breakfast ends.)  The real fun starts with the annual Scavenger Hunt.  You can pick up your card at Christmas Park.  While at Christmas Park make sure to place your guess as to how many objects are in the container to win a prize.

At Mid-day take a break under the trees of Christmas Park as music fills the air.  Santa Clause will take time out from his much-needed vacation to greet Kids of all ages.  FYI – I’m told that Uncle Sam might be stopping by the street to do a little window shopping while taking part in the 1st Saturday Craft Beer walk that starts at 1pm.

Also, at 1pm You don’t want to miss the 8th Annual Bed RACES.  This is a must see!  If you just want to watch don’t forget to bring water balloons to throw at the teams you want to slow down.  Better yet there is plenty of time for you to form your own team of family and friends. We love to have a Team represent the Anchor Inn. We can get you entered right up to a half hour before the race. You can make your own Bed or use one of the those provided by CSHD.   Don’t go without ammunition for your rider they will defiantly want a water gun to protect you from the crowd for throwing balloons.  You will defiantly want to the bragging rights of being this year’s winner.   No matter how you choice to spend your day here in town the best finish is to grab a bite to eat at any of the amazing restaurants along the Canal and the side streets. Then maybe stop for ice cream at Donna’s Creamery!   Days like this  are what make New Smyrna Beach one of the best beach towns anywhere.   So, come find out for yourself!
